What's for dinner?

The dreaded question I get asked as soon as the hubby walks in the door...which is usually the same dreaded question I tend to ask myself every morning these days as I haven't had the energy i used to before getting pregnant, therefore don't plan ahead as much as i used to. But with the new year and a new baby on the way it's something I need to get back into the habit of, especially to get the freezer full that last month of pregnancy so we're not eating out/boxed meals for 6 weeks.

So to help myself get into the habit I'll be posting every evening "What's For Dinner"...sometimes it'll be a new recipe like tonights, a family favorite or the ever popular "left over night" or "fend for yourself night" (of course little man is exempt from this as his idea of fending for himself would be orange juice, ice cream and some doritos : )

Tonight's "What's For Dinner" is this new twist on a classic comfort dish. I'll post pictures later of my finished product cause now I need to go so I can call my mom and get her recipe for the best country gravy you've ever had (secret ingredient...white sugar...makes it a knock your socks off kinda gravy).

Until then...

New Year, New Month & New Activities

Today is the first day of 2011...and with all this talk about resolutions I've made one too, kinda, sorta. It's more like a plan of attack for surviving the next year with a 2 1/2 year old and another one due in May.
So far my list includes some baking, redecorating and of course crafts, lots and lots of crafts!

Bird Seed Molds, Homemade play dough, homemade paper (the best kind to use for watercolors which little man LOVES to do over any other kind of painting), and decorating for Valentine's day (which is going to include lots and lots of Pottery Barn Kids DIY crafts such as this awesome garland that we'll be making with scrapbook paper!) And this is all just for the month of January!!!

Whew makes me tired just thinking about it (remember I'm pregnant so my energy comes in random spurts these days, just like my desire to cook lately,as the hubby likes to remind me daily : )

So stay tuned to see if I can even manage everything on my list, cause sitting on the sofa doing nothing sounds soooooooooo good right about now : )
